Luang Por Liem Thitadhammo is considered to be one of the greatest living meditation masters in Thailand. Renowned for his gentle demeanour and deep wisdom, Luang Por Liem has always had an impeccable reputation as a well-practised monk. He lived with Ajahn Chah for many years and was personally chosen by him to look after Wat Pah Pong when Ajahn Chah became severely ill in 1982.
The Retreat schedule will consist of morning/evening chanting, mindful work, sitting/walking meditation, Dhamma talk and Q&A in the evening. Retreatants are asked to observe the eight precepts. This retreat is more suitable for experienced meditators.
Arrival and check-in between 3 and 5 pm on Monday, 24th February.
About the Teacher:
Luang Por Liem was born in in Sri Saket in the Northeast of Thailand on 5th November 1941. He was ordained at 20 and practiced in several village monasteries throughout the Northeast before joining the Forest Tradition in 1969. Presently, Luang Por is the Abbot of Wat Nong Pah Pong in Ubon, Thailand and is the head of the Ajahn Chah lineage.
He will be accompanied by Ajahn Thaniyo, his translator. Ajahn Thaniyo, born in Queensland, has been a monk for 9 years, and has spent the last 5 years living with LP Liem.
